In these areas you will find some good hiking treks and trails for those of you that want to have closer contact with the nature on Koh Chang. The Best time for hiking is in the mornings, when the sun is rising and shining onto the lush rain forest and the heat of the day is not to intense.

Klong Plu Waterfall

Probably the best known and most popular waterfall on Koh Chang due to its close proximity to the favoured west coast beaches .

Klong Plu Waterfall is a large fall of 3 levels and is about a 20 minute hike from the main entrance. Most visitors stay on the first level, the 10 meter fall is an impressive sight and the plunge pool at the bottom is great for a refreshing swim.

The second and third levels of Klong Plu waterfall can be reached after a slippery climb to the top.

Than Mayom is a medium sized waterfall with 4 levels. Located on Koh Chang's east coast. The Waterfall can be reached by following a short path through the fruit orchards at the rear of the Marine National Park Office.

The first level has a large pool at the front of the waterfall where swimming is allowed. The first and third levels of the waterfall have the initials of two previous Kings of Thailand, Rama V and VII, engraved into the rock

Nang Yom Waterfall

Nang Yom is located to the north east of Koh Chang near to the town of Dan Mai. Nang Yom is a small waterfall with several cascades.

The Waterfall can be reached by following the trail that runs behind Dan Mai Police Station. The trail is about an hour long and we recommend wearing long trousers as the undergrowth in this area can cause an itchy rash.

Khiri Phet Waterfall

Khiri Phet is located about 2 kilometres from the fishing village of Salak Phet in the south east of Koh Chang.

Khiri Phet is medium sized waterfall with 2 levels in the rainy season and up to 7 levels in the dry season, when there is less water. There is water in the falls all year round and a pool to swim in on the bottom level.

From Salak Phet follow the jungle track for about 1.5 Kilo meters to the beginning of a footpath. After a few hundred meters you will reach the bottom level of the waterfall where you will be able to swim in a small pool.

Further levels of the waterfall can be reached but the path is very difficult especially in rainy season when it can be very slippery. Once at the top however, you will be rewarded with some stunning views over Salak Phet and Jek Bae.

Klong Nueng Waterfall

Klong Nueng is is the tallest in Koh Chang and not too far from Khiri Phet. Klong Nueng Waterfall is a great place to take a quick dip in the chest deep pool.

Having made the hours hike to get there. You will have to climb across a large boulder that blocks the trail. Once over the boulder you will see the water cascading down through the ravine.

Koh Kood - Klong Chao Waterfall

Although Klong Chao Waterfall is not on Koh Chang we had to mention the spectacular waterfall on Koh Kood.

Koh Kood Klong Chao Waterfall

Klong Chao is considered the most beautiful on Koh Kood and is one of the most striking spots on the island. Cascading into a large pool and providing tourists with a welcome spot for some freshwater swimming.

Tucked away in the jungle the waterfall can be reached boat or a short walk through the jungle. Klong Chao Waterfall consists of 3 tiers. The upper two are running streams and the lower one is a large pond and an ideal place for swimming.

Visit the running streams at the upper two tiers and then stop for a relaxing freshwater swim in the large pond on the lower level.
